Guidance reviewed 3 October 2026.

Fragile belongings need suitable packing and a clear understanding of the mover's responsibilities.

Plan item by item

Use appropriate cushioning, sound boxes and manageable weights. Protect edges and surfaces, label destination rooms and discuss large or delicate items before moving day. Do not rely on an unsupported ranking of the most commonly damaged possessions.

Check coverage

Ask what packing, dismantling and insurance are included and what exclusions or claim conditions apply. Professional handling reduces some risks but does not guarantee zero damage. Keep valuables and irreplaceable documents with you and document condition where useful.
