Check the building
Consider glazing, shading, insulation, orientation and airflow together. Thermal mass stores heat; it is not the same as insulation. An air conditioner or pool does not automatically compensate for poor building performance.
Use evidence and safe practice
Do not rely on unsupported claims that heatwaves increase prices or reduce demand for efficient homes. Compare actual local sales and running costs. Visit at useful times, ask about maintenance and follow health guidance during extreme heat. Comfort is a practical purchase consideration, not a guaranteed investment return.
