Trying to find a new home to buy can be time consuming, overwhelming and potentially stressful.
Here are some handy tips to make your next house hunt a successful one!
Narrow down the location
It is important to narrow down the location you are looking at – along with your wish list, location can really determine if you are able to afford your dream home.
Be realistic about your budget
Often people are not realistic about their budget and view properties that are unattainable to them. If you’ve only been pre-approved for $700,000 then you should stick to viewing properties within this range – rather avoid disappointment in falling in love with a house that you cannot realistically afford.
Work with a professional
An estate agent can help you narrow down ideal properties within your budget or location and with your set of requirements. They are also able to show you properties that may not yet be on the market or properties where the seller is open to negotiation. Estate agents are experts in the property market and can share a great wealth of area as well as property knowledge with you – or even help you see the true value in a property that you are viewing!
Have a clear and realistic wish list
There are some things that you will need in your new home – such as 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms or an outside space with grass for your pets. There are also things that you will have on your wish list such as a walk-in robe or caesar stone countertops – be clear and realistic with your Wishlist and share this with your estate agent.
