A small outdoor space can feel more workable when its layout is clear.

Choose a simple layout

Keep a usable path and select furniture suited to the dimensions. Use plants for local light and water conditions rather than filling every surface. Vertical planting may help when securely installed.

Check boundaries and loads

Confirm fence ownership before attaching planters, and check fixing strength, maintenance access and any approvals. Keep drains clear and choose outdoor surfaces for safe use. The aim is practical space for your household, not a guaranteed visual effect or value increase.
