A building can look attractive while the apartment’s layout, access or surroundings fail to suit your daily life.
Visit and test practical details
Check light, ventilation, noise, storage, privacy, internet options and routes to transport and services. Visit at different times where possible. Measure spaces rather than assuming a styled room fits your furniture.
Consider shared living
Observe lifts, entrances, bins and common areas, and ask about maintenance and access arrangements. Review strata by-laws and records separately from the physical visit. An open home is not a complete building assessment.
Resolve questions before committing
Use appropriate independent inspections and legal advice. Record uncertainties about parking, condition and inclusions, obtain evidence and compare the total ongoing costs with your budget.
